Our 46 members set out from Radcliffe at 8-30am for the journey to Chester. Arriving at 11am we boarded and set off for a 2 hours cruise down the River Dee, to the Duke of Westminster’s Eaton Estate. With a running commentary on the history of the land and the many magnificent buildings we had a relaxing cruise whilst enjoying a picnic and a coffee.
At the end of the cruise we set of in small groups to visit the many attractions that Chester offers, many of historical interest including the City Walls which some members walked, the Roman Amphitheatre and the Chester Cathedral. Chester also has many high street shops with many small original and specialised businesses, which I am sure, were explored.
