Successful Visit to Trentham Gardens and Wedgwood Pottery
A group of 37 members set out for the visit to Trentham Gardens and Wedgwood Pottery. The weather was excellent throughout the day and this allowed us to just enjoy visit all the more. Many of our members had not been before and it’s fair to say that everyone had a great day. The Trentham Shopping Village had many interesting offerings to tempt us to spend, which many did. The wide variety of food on offer were tested and found to be excellent. One or two visited the magnificent garden before re-joining the group for the drive to Wedgwood Pottery.
On arrival at Wedgwood we split in to two groups for a 45 minute conducted tour of the factory. The was a fascinating experience, to see up close the skill and patience of the crafts people in producing the exquisite Wedgwood Pottery. Many then made their way to the Museum where items going back to the start of the company were on show. Onward on to the Café were we had our Crème Tea waiting for us. This was superb, lovely Scones with Cream & Jam all washed down with English Breakfast tea. This left us a short time to visit the Shop, were various purchases were made, before joining our Coach for the journey back to Radcliffe. From the comments of our members this proved to be a most successful day, that was enjoyed by all.
