Bomber Command & Doddington Hall
Our trip to Bomber Command was hailed by all who attended as a great success. Despite the high winds our visit to the Gardens, and Spire along with our guide Ray was excellent. He was knowledgeable, clear in his speech & the information he gave us. This was followed by a visit to the museum, which in an understated way, ensured we all understood the horrors of war and the sacrifice the young men of Bomber Command made, to ensure we remain a free country. Many took advantage of the excellent Café with a good selection of reasonably priced food.
Eventually it came time to move on to Doddington Hall a short 30 minute drive away. Here we were met by Hannah who gave us a short talk on the history of the house and the families who had lived there. We were then given free rein to explore the house, which was very interesting with many items to inspect and enjoy. Many then made their way to the Hall’s Shops, offering a wide variety of items to purchase, before joining our coach for the return home.
